Re-animate your old, tired, broken and downright hideous necklaces, earrings and bracelets with this 3-hour jewelry upcycling and basic assembly workshop. You'll learn how to create something new out of something old, with this basic assembly, repair and reconfiguration workshop. Bring your tired, misshapen strands and mismatched earrings and reconfigure them into something completely new!
In this workshop you'll learn:
- How to recycle supplies and envision their transformation
- How to select and add adornments to create an aesthetically balanced design
- How to work with and comfortably hold jeweler's pliers
- Wire-wrapping, eye-pins, head-pins jump-rings and other connectors
Supplies needed:
- Jewelry that you'd like to re-contextualize, be it necklaces, earrings, bracelets, headpieces, rings, whatever.
- You can also bring objects that you can envision being turned into elements of jewelry
(example: mini-cassette tapes, keys, whistles, compasses). We'll have box of objects and you can barter back and forth.
- All additional tools, like pliers, scissors, wire cutters and fasteners will be supplied.
