Are
you an artist without access to a press or a large studio space? Are
you a painter looking to incorporate prints into your work? Maybe
you’re just curious about doing printmaking at home? This hands-on
workshop will introduce several printmaking tools & techniques that
you can use as easily in your apartment as you can in the studio.
In 3
hours, students will learn how to transfer non-archival images
(including xeroxes of drawings, text, or magazine cut outs) into
professional, lasting pieces of artwork. This particular class will
focus on Xerox Gum and Acrylic Transfers. Students will be able to
experiment with their technique to produce bold, graphic impressions, as
well as delicate, translucent results on paper, fabric, wood, and a
variety of diverse materials. Previous knowledge of printmaking is not
required! Students with all levels of experience are welcome! Join
us! Note for Participating Students:
If you have images that you would like to experiment with during class,
we encourage you to bring them! You may bring B&W photocopies in
addition to laser prints or magazine/newspaper cutouts. Believe it or
not, photocopies from old Xerox machines work best! If you plan on
transferring text, you will need a reverse copy of your image.
The use
of materials during the workshop is included in the class fee. |
