In many cases, Lightroom can speed up your editing and image adjustment time compared to Bridge and Photoshop, and help you manage and organize your images, particularly if you’ve shot enough to span multiple hard drives.

What you will learn
Lightroom's strength is its intuitive and powerful interface, which allows you to adjust multiple images on the fly, rate them, sort them, and export them with ease and speed. But there's far more lurking under the pristine surface. You'll learn how to organize and retouch photos, make collections, tag photos, understand and apply metadata, import and export in different file formats, in addition to development adjustments, such as exposure, white balance, tone curves, and lens corrections. Intermediate shooters, which includes students who have already learned how to control exposure manually. This class is perfect if you have some experience with photography... maybe you took a few courses in college and need a refresher, or you'd like to progress further after completing Digital Photo I.

What you will learn
Moving past the basics, Digital Photo II: Intermediate is where things start to get interesting. This course picks up where Digital Photo I leaves off, and introduces color photography, white balance, lighting and on-camera flash as well as composition review, creative color schemes and color theory for black & white.

Class time is a mixture of solid technical training, in-depth demonstrations and group critique. We'll be covering the more fascinating aspects of creative photography and dissecting legendary images from the most revered photographers. As with Digital Photo I, the course culminates with an exhibition of final projects created during class.

Are you an artist without access to a press or a large studio space? Are you a painter looking to incorporate prints into your work? Maybe you’re just curious about doing printmaking at home? This hands-on workshop will introduce several printmaking tools & techniques that you can use as easily in your apartment as you can in the studio.

What you will learn
In 3 hours, students will learn how to transfer non-archival images (including xeroxes of drawings, text, or magazine cut outs) into professional, lasting pieces of artwork. This particular class will focus on Xerox Gum and Acrylic Transfers. Students will be able to experiment with their technique to produce bold, graphic impressions, as well as delicate, translucent results on paper, fabric, wood, and a variety of diverse materials.

What to Bring?
If you have images that you would like to experiment with during class, we encourage you to bring them! You may bring B&W photocopies in addition to laser prints or magazine/newspaper cutouts. Believe it or not, photocopies from old Xerox machines work best! If you plan on transferring text, you will need a reverse copy of your image.

Prerequisites
Previous knowledge of printmaking is not required! Students with all levels of experience are welcome. Cost of the class includes a $10 materials fee.

New DSLRs are becoming the de facto standard for consumer and prosumer video, and with good reason. A wide range of lenses, bodies and accessories are making it easier than ever to create beautiful, lifelike motion pictures, perfect for your next vacation video, Youtube web series or arthouse film.

Learn how the video mode operates through a detailed demonstration on the new video DSLRs. We’ll see how the camera switches from stills to moving image (what is Live View? why did my viewfinder stop working?) and learn the standard settings used to get the right exposure and the right appearance of movement.

We'll show you what accessories are most useful for capturing video, and students will be assigned to shoot their own creative videos between sessions which will be reviewed and discussed during the second session. Introduce moving images into your workflow and make amazing films today!

For this introductory workshop, we'll focus on the fundamentals of solid color dyeing and some creative effects such as ombré patterns.


What to bring?

Bring any fabric or old dress or t shirt, just make sure it is 100% natural, so cotton and silk is best. Fabric scraps are OK too. We'll provide materials: plastic gloves, dyes, soda ash, cotton fabric, plastic bottles, rubber bands, hangers and buckets
